A Case of Chronic Bullous Dermatosis of Childhood

Abstract
|
|
|
Chronic bullous disease of childhood is a rare autoimmune vesiculobullous disorder characteristically seen in infancy and early childhood, and associated with the presence of IgA bound in a homogeneous linear array along the dermoepidermal
junction.
A 9-year-old boy showed generalized wheal like eruptions and vesicles on the whole body without subjective symptoms.
Histopathologic findings of an intact early blister showed a subepidermal vesicle containing many neutrophils and a few eosinophils.
Direct immunofluorescent study of the perilesional skin demonstrated linear deposition of IgA and C3 at the dermoepidermal junctions. Indirect immunofluorescent study was negative.
The HLA-B8 was negative.
The skin lesions responded well to dapsone therapy, 50mg/day, for 2 weeks. (Kor J Dermatol 1994 ; 32(3) : 477~482)
